Ok heres my problem. Ive made a maps and the dimensions are 450,000 by 250,000 by 50,000. Now ive been doing everything the same the only thing I did different is use a jpg for my bitmap. But when I go to export I get a error saying the program must shutdown would you like to save. Now I think it has to do with it being to big. But I dont no so dose anybody have a idea thanks.

I always try to stay around 5000x5000x1600 for map size. Hope that helps.

I've seen *cough*certain upcoming maps that are at least 10 kilometres square, probably more. Thats like 4 or so Hugeasses... on one map...

The only way they do this though is to scale everything except the actual map down, to give the impression of a huge map. Well, I don't know, that's just what I've heard.

Make a map based on metric units if you really dont know how to use max units.

It also matters, I am currently working on a project that is going to hold 100-200 people and is going to be about 100 times larger than bigass. The thing is, the leader of the project has a good server able to hold all those people with absolutely no lag. So it matters what resources you have.

Like i said, he's got a kick ass server that he can host from. BUT, if you don't believe me I don't care.

halo has limits you cant just do that For an example i made a map last week and i forgot to resize it, it was bigger than hugeass, and when i went to export i got a tool error i forget the exact error message but it talks about a "face #0" witch pretty much meant the map was too large and it dint compile. So your idea wont wont work if your planning on making a map much bigger than hugeass.

and not to mention the idea is bogus and pretty lame.

600km across? That would fit about 50 in a line, and about 150 across. Work that one out.

It would be pointless, the biggest map to date (you guys won't have played it unless you're either leakers or fellow beta-ers) takes about 5 mins or more to cross in a Hog, something 60 times it's size or so would just be ridiculous. The faster you make the vehicles, the harder they are to drive.

i don't believe you. you haven't even given us any evidence. start a topic and link us to the info if you're for real. you can't get 100 to 200 people into halo, so please, stop trying to play us for fools.

a lot of people have kick ass servers they can host from. server quality doesn't determine how many people you can get into halo

600 km? wow, thats massive. though, if you think about it you could make something larger than whay you think it could be. make the charecter tiny, and have the level huge. thus you have a much larger map than what it truely is. *i think that would work...*

Heres a somewhat related question about size, is there any way to increase the viewport clipping distance?
