Ok see what I want to do is raise the walls but have a opening to these areas that are not in red when you select your faces. I want it to be like a canyon of some sort. So when I raise the walls even if its selected or not it still goes up does anybody have any ideas thanks. O and can somebody tell me how to put a picture into my fourum. It would be alot easier to understand with the picture I have.Thanks.[/list]

I don't have a clue what you're saying, but I will tell you how to put an image in.
- First host your image somewhere
- Second:
Code: Select all

pictures
use the img button in edit post
click once before you put url address then second when you finish.
note: to obtain image addy, right click picture,
goto Http addy, copy paste the addy to your post.
walls
Don't raise walls,
Drop floors instead
For Passages
tessalate opening and exit areas,
reshape the opening and exit,
delete polys at opening and exit,
use poly create and in vertex mode,
attach vertices in counter clockwise direction to make faces in to sealed world environment,
give it a material ID of the 2 for your bitmap,
(I'm guessing at this point you can't attach bases either),
go out of edit mode.

I think I actually have a vague understanding of what you're saying...
You have:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
X................X................X..................X
X................X................X..................X
X................X................X..................X
X.selected..X..not sel...X...selected..X
X................X................X..................X
X................X................X..................X
X................X................X..................X
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
and you're trying to raise either side without the middle going up too.... my guess is that you're using the move tool. For this kind of thing you should use the extrude tool available in editable poly and editable mesh modes.
