I have been using gmax for a while (attempting) to model my own items. I have installed the .OBJ Wavefront script, and I have opened it. I have got as far as importing the .OBJ file. There are 2 problems:
1)How do I export files as .OBJ files?
2)The model only shows up in the perspective view (not mandatory that I fix that, the prespective view is my favorite anywho)

1. Open gmax
2. Put your script in the startup folder for gmax (or any folder you want to keep scripts in, works best with startup folder)
3. Open the script.
4. Run the script, you will notice nothing will happen. That is good.
5. Close gmax, then reopen it.
6. On the sidebar of gmax, where there are the tabs (for ex. the tab that is a sphere where you draw 3d shapes) click the hammer tab. It is on the far right.
7. There should be a list of buttons, and the last one is MAXScripts. Click that.
8. Below that, there should be the window that says script and stuff, and a select list. Press the arrow for the select list, then click Wavefront OBJ Plugin.
9. Another thing should appear under the bottom, that has your import button.
Vwala.

[This really doesn't belong in this topic, but]
You have to zoom in REALLY far. You can click between the boxes to make the size of one bigger. I suggest only using the perspective view.
