fp hands

j0 srry for the noob Q (not that much of a n00b to moding), how can i get the fp modle of the hands to that of say an elite, jakle,or a hunter?

Seriously hard, I think your best bet is to try remodel them to LOOK like the ones you want.

well im always up for a chalange, so how would one go about making them without just reshaping them. im dling gmax right now

You can't. For Custom edition, you can, but for Halo PC, it's impossible. You will need to remodel the old ones for PC, because if there are any differences in the number of faces or vertices, it will screw up the map.

At least you aren't a n00b to posting. Most people say, in their topic title, things like 'ZOMG I SCREWED UP NEED HALP' or 'wtf how do u do tis!!!111!!!' instead of using appropiate titles like 'fp hands'.

Yeah, so my advice is to just move some vertices around in MS3D until you have something similar to what you want, just make sure moving is all you do... any adding/deleting, if you try run it in Halo, will be an open invitation for Mr. Exception.

which is why you need to play CE :wink: PC modding is stuck back in the 90's still :-P. come to the custom side ^_^

darn. ok so i dont have any pay progs, all i have is gmax and it cant import .obj. anyone have any way of making it import? holidays are coming up and $ is tight so thers no buying progs for a while. o ya and about the CE... that requires work to get. tahnx all for the input.
EDIT: o ya i forgot, would there be a way to get the shield for the jackle or the hunter models without just streaching things?

then only one i could find for importing dosent work, after opening a .obj file in the browser window it just dose nothing. and iff j00 do it too many times it will just beep when a buton is pressed

OMG. listen, there sren't any hands for the elites, jackels, grunts, marines, hunters, or flood. Bungie didn't create fp hands because the bipeds were never even meant to be the main player model(unlike halo 2). so, your best bet would be to extract the reglular models & detatch the arms, fix them up, & there you have some hands. rigging them is an entirely different story.

yes no elite fp hands made so it is a extremely hard to remodel but if u want to remodel use milkshape or any low polygon modeing program

ok first off, i know there are no fp modles. thats what im trying to do. i was thinking i may be able to take the arms off of the model and some how make them usable for a fp model. second gmax is free and im a little short on $. just got done fixing my truck and i cant dig into my rent fund so i have no money to spare. i have a trial of milkshape for the time being, but it wont last forever. thats y i need something that will sucsessfully import .obj into gmax as well as export.

o ya and as i asked earlyer, is there a way to make the shield on the arm without making everything look streached

so im guesing nobody knows how to do this or has a script that works for importing .obj into gmax. if thats the cace than ive lost a great deal of hope i onece had for these forums.
