Ok, does anyone know where or how i could get a model of the pillar of autumn in .3ds format to use in a map?

You can't extract a 3ds from a map, only an .obj. To do this you need to download the latest Sparkedit.
Open up the map in sparkedit and there should be some option to extract an obj.

If i can do this, im gonna do a service for the public and post the obj on the files forum for all......
