Back to rigging... and I need some help... =/

Since my other topic asking for a prerigged mc got locked I am guessing because I was asking for "Warez". So I went back to attempting to rig my mc in 3ds max bit to no avail. I really need some help with this because I get all the vertices I want in the specifc envolpe and then I try to move it and it screws up the arm 
. I followed Zmans tut got my mc looking pretty bad because he hasent completed the tut and it has been over a month. So i took plats tut with my mc and tryed rigging but I haven't progress over the past week from there. If some one could tell me my problem or give me a Tutorial on how to rig and edit envolopes CORRECTLY, because platt didn't explain it really at all
