Importing models

How do i import models into Halo? I have HMT3 and Spark edit. I have made 6 or so models in 3ds max and i am having trouble getting them into the game.

man it has to be a modified version of an origional item. to put it in you must inject it into HMT v.3 but it will only work if it has the same number of indecies

if u want to make somthing right now until the sdk comes out u have to extract a model and just pull verticies until u get what u want then import back in, cant do much cool good modeling unfortunatly but this willhave to do for now.

SDK/GEK/HEK was already delayed by, what, 2 years? Then they said it would come out some time in 1-3 weeks back on January 5th or something... WHY CAN'T THEY JUST RELEASE IT A LITTLE BIT BUGGY IF THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE ANOTHER YEAR TO ROOT OUT THE BUGS !??!?!?!?!
I want to import new models...*sob* SCREW YOU GEARBOX!!!!!!
But yeah, you can't import new models unless the have the same amount of indicies
and vertices.

In the halo map tools forum you said it was possible with a hex editor spartan

yeah i know but if i edit the models in Milkshape (which sucks) i don't have a problem importing them. but 3ds max it changes the number of indices without even modifying the model. thats my problem

mine too haha, god milkshape is horrific, i havnt been able to find a plugin that works correctly.

hey SCI-FIismyforte, what version of Max are you using? If it's v. 5, could you send me te OBJ import plugin? I'm desperate to find one that works

Hey Colt.BK here is the website i got mine off of.
http://www.maxplugins.de/ i am running v5. NOTE: you can import the model back into halo after importing to 3ds max. just extract the file to you 3dsmax\Plugin directory
