How do I get started moding maps?

Ok , I have HEK, I have NO Idea how it works, I just want to edit the maps a little , add somr weapons here a there, some more cars, just small stuff. Can any one help? :cry:

You make completely new maps with the HEK.

Use HMT or HHT.With that tool you can open HaloPC Mapfiles and modifie almost evrything

Can I get that here, hmm let me look

Ok I found it , downloaded it, but what do i use to open it with

Ok, I got it to work, messed a a map, luckly i messed up one i hate. Ok in the one edtitor that lets you move things around,hmmm Spark edit! Thats it. Anyway in that thing , can i add more objects , or can i only use whats there?

don't triple post.You have to backup maps before you edit them.You can swap things in sparkedit i think

And you can duplicate objects as well as move or rotate existing objects. To get a new object into a map, simply PMI it. There's a few tuts on PMI and even Sparkedit Tutorials in the Tutorials section of these forums. Read the tutorial index, it has all the tutorials categorized and listed in one place.
