Reinjected Texures are dark from faraway, but good up close

I edited the ghost bitmap model from HMT's and then put it back in. It looked fine on the little preview screen, but in the game when you look at it from far away its all black. As you get closer, like when it says "press x..." you can see all the stuff I've done. What's the problem?

Oh, and dont try to open Halo with HMT's up. Wow. My PC crashed last nigth from it. I had to reinstall XP, but thankfully, nothing was lost :D

when you open the files select not to show MIP maps. Then when you save pick generate MIPs and all will be well...

Are MIPs mini maps? I'm useing a program that converts texture files into bitmaps or jpegs. it looks fine in the little window.

sounds like you editing the bansheedeatail texture and not the banshee texture.... ive never edited the banshee detail texture before but thats what it sounds like :)

mipmaps.. you only edited the ones for up close.. its the pc that has this problem more then xbox .. but make sure u edit the smaller mipmaps too
