Anyone willing to help a skin newb?

I have adobe photoshop elements 2.0 and I honestly dont even know where to start with skinning. I like wha tpeople have done with skins and I want to do the same but I need some directions. The tutorial is so small, I cant get much out of it so anyone willing to teach me the basics, reply here or send me a message. thx.

You just use HMT to find the bitmap of the thing you want to skin, click export(or somethin like that) and save it somewhere. Next get the .bff plugin for photoshop, and put it in the plugins folder of Photoshop. open the .bff file and change it as you wish. When done save it as a .bff file (there need to be sertian options set when u save. u can find those easily). Now just use HMT, find the bitmap of what ur editing, click inject and find edited .bff. Save it and ur done. MAKE BACKUPS OF BITMAPS IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
