Guys i'm thinking about making a picture/video tutorial for gun modeling. Choose me out a rifle/smg that is relatively flat and easy.

I think you should to a tutorial on a Springfield Milspec 1911, it is relatively simple. And please dont make the tutorial in lots of seperate parts you have to download as I find that just evil..

Make it gun that apeals to alot of people, or at least something everyone knows. Like say an AK. Then they'll look at your tutorial and say, "OMG! I wana model an AK!! Ohhh!!" lol =P

Here there is a crapload of pictures of the AK
http://modelguns.co.uk/ak47.htm

In fact, that site has a crap load of pics of a crap load of guns. =P

Oh yeah, and are you going to be using poly by poly modelling? I think you should because alot of the new moddelers don't seems to know much about that.

i'm going to do a combination of plane and poly-by-poly modeling. An ak 47 is a pretty good choice. Any more?

and sonic, it will be in 5-8 different parts but i'll probably enclose them all into 1 .rar as an option.

I suggest not making an AK47. That model is really overdone. Seen too many.

Try...(i would like a shotgun) but...i'll look around when i get home. Looking up guns on a school comp would be bad for me :?

No offense but:
it will be in 5-8 different parts but i'll probably enclose them all into 1 .rar as an option.
What is the point of having them in different pieces, if you have to download em all at once? You can always just pause the video while you follow it... making em into different parts is just a waste of time... do what you want, just saying my piece.

But yeah, it will be in different pieces to be more organized, and me not having to do it all at one time. You have the option of downloading them all at once in 1 rar file or downloading them seperately.

Because if you have to quit for the day, it will get annoying finding your specific part. Lets say part one was 'setting up' and part 7 was final details. I would prefer jsut to skip to 7 if i'm taht far instead of navigating through the video to find it

Sorry. I though I clicked quote but i clicked edit.

That was my response.

Well, it isnt a waste of time, people do it because of people with bad connections who might only want it part by part.

Well, with all these weapon tutorials everyone will be good at modeling. Well, if you want somewhere to host it, then ask 9mm man, muah.

Also will you be covering texturing? Cauz if you dont it will give me somthing to make a tutorial about.. heh.

Therefore it would be good to have them in 7 different parts....

You should make the thing about making a texture. I'm horrible at making custom textures.

yeah, if i do a video tutorial it could end up being 1 gig+ so i'd need hosting for that. Unless someone can get me camtasia.

you can use a trial for camtasia. Unless you have done so.
