Extract Halo 1 models with correct textures?

Ok, I've tried to search through here for the answer, but it has so far eluded me, so please pardon this n00bish question--but please answer it if you can...


I followed the "Perfect Renders" tutorial and it works great--but only on models extracted from Halo 2. When I try to extract the Halo 1 models with HMT 3.5, I get the mesh OK, but the texturing step no longer properly applies the DDS files to the older models. (This is in 3DS Max 7, btw.)

What's the difference between the HMT 3.5 .obj export and the ADI .obj export that does not allow the Halo 1 textures to apply properly when imported into 3DS Max 7?

i am pretty sure the skins are applied in game therefor when you extract it it won't work

You can't get 'em UV wrapped from Halo PC, although I believe you can get 'em wrapped from an xbox cache file.
