Ok, I appologize if I am spamming, flaming, eating HaloMods bandwidth, or just being a pest, but here goes with a few Halo modding questions!

I know how to add AI to a map and have done it, however I'd like to add something other than a Spartan. I've extracted some of the singleplayer maps using HMT, however all the files are in meta format. How do I convert the extracted material into tags that Sapien/Guerilla can open, save, and then tool.exe can convert into a .map file? Is there some way to do this other than using HMT? One other small question: how do I convert sound tags into something like a .mp3 or a .wav?

I can answer the sound question, export the sound, NOT THE METADATA using HMT, get the XBOX ADPCM codec, its easy to find. Go to Sound Recoreder and open up the sound file. Go to file/ properties/convert now/ and select whichever format you want. After this hit convert, and save the newly converted soud file wherever you please.

Ill work the same. Just use HHT with the latest plugins instead of HMT

I really need to be able to convert a .map file into something I can open in Sapien and Guerilla though... and edit the tags.

Yeah, probably impossible, but is there any way at all to take a .map file either from Halo PC or CE and convert it into a tag structure that I can edit in Guerilla or Sapien?

Heh..now I'm the last person who can answer that question, but correct me if I'm wrong - it sounds like you're wanting to decompile the map into its base components.

I don't think there is a tool out there to do that for any halo map. I'm sure with enough knowledge of the mapping technology halo uses and enough programming skills it could be done - but I'm pretty sure there isn't such a beast around currently.

I propose that you start another thread titled "How do I inject AI" or something like that - I know its been done..I saw a bunch of maps that had them on halomaps or one of those sites.

I don't want to inject them though, I want to place them in Sapien. Or is it possible to place the AI as Spartans and then inject the Grunts? Oooh.. but won't work as well... I'll do some fiddling.
