Render help... lol...

Hey, i havent used max in months, and i forgot how to make a cool, shadowy, clay render. If anyone can reteach me all teh steps to make it... i would appreciate it. im trying to render my first plane modelled gun

Ok here it is:
-Change the model colour to white
-place a white plane underneath it
- go to the Lights, under objects
-Change Standard to Photometric
-Click on IES sky, make part cloudy and tick cast shadows
-Place the IES sky pointing at your model
-Press number 8
-on exposure control, change <No exposure control> to Automatic Exposure control
-Press F10
-Click the Advanced Lighting tab
-Change <No light plugin> to Light Tracer
-Press F9 and watch her render

ok, you do that. I hate plane modeling, eww. Its all like, weld, extrude, weld, extrude, insert vert, extrude, weld, extrude. So boring.
