1. how do i apply a material/skin to a single face/side

2. how can i export gmax files to 3dsMax?

edit: ok i found out i cant export gmax to 3ds. thats gay, unless i can find a mxScript, which i cant, which is uber gay. *sigh* i had a cool pose of MC, but i cant render it, *sigh*

umm u could export it as a filetype that 3dsmax can import

as for the first question, i think u just select the face and then apply it

select what you want to export and go File-->Export.

For the first question, just change the material ID of that face to an unused one and then make the texture use that material ID,
and I don't know if there are any file-types that you can export->import with gmax to 3dsmax but there might be.

EDIT: no, I just checked, in Gmax you can only export as the file-type: Plasma (.P3D) and you can't import that in 3DS Max

Will that also work with gmax?
