Need a hand with this model

Ive just finished my first ever model in 3ds, and id like to know how to skin it, texturing and skin creation isnt a problem, i just need to know how to properly apply them to my model. I know how to add a texture to a whole object, but not to specific parts for graphics etc... a little help!

i like it and the color scheme is nice if there as just a texture, but keep thsoe colors

have u looked at the tuts on this website, surely one of them tells you how to skin detailedly.

Well, here is a quick one I put together, theres ALOT of pictures.. So hopefully you wont need to ask any questions. And you have to do this for each cylinder, im only showing it for one.

Added: You should download Texporter, what this does is turn your UVW unwrap into an image, which you can edit into becoming your skin.

Yeh i could send it if you want, its not finished, so ill add the detail tonight, then send it. Heres a TAG rifle im working on, its only about half finished, but its getting there.
