Dont have time to make a video, I will take a few screenshots though:
Ok, first I will make the wall around the door for reference, so for this I make a box, Extrude it up twice, extrude then accross twice, and then extrude down on the other side, so you make the general shape around the door.
-------
Now I make cuts around the edges of the door, to do this just use the cut tool in editable mesh, or you can turn to an editable poly, notice I also made the door area slightly lower in height.
-------
Now I extrude the areas that I cut between, and move the polygons which are nearest to where the door will be placed in slightly, so it all bevels inwards.
------
Make some cuts in the door accordingly as I have
------
Select the Chamfer Edge tool under editable mesh, then select those newly made edges, and chamfer them, it will make it look like this:
------
I have now made some gaps in the door, in these I can bevel inwards, this is going by what my bedroom door looks like.
-----
Make a box for the handle, then bevel that, and scale what you have beveled it to into a square shape.
-------
Extrude it some outwards, then to the side, this is what my bedroom door is like, although it has much more details, this is assuming you want it reasonably low polygon.
-------
Make some hindges out of boxes:
------
Make the lock thing on it, by a box and moving some vertecies to make it look a little rounded.
------
Make the other part for the lock area to close into for the door, just make a box also and move some vertecies round accordingly, dont bother making it actually look like it fits it, it wastes polygon and not many people would pay that much attention to detail, it can just be done with a bump map if neccessary.
-------
Change some colours, add some lights, make some materials, take a render, and this is what i got left with:
