yeh it is boxy in those renders... not to mention my render variety suxored. but anyways, i've redone a lot of...ok the whole model. and now it needs to be chamfered and such to get it lookin good. will update later.

update! it has changed much since the last renders. hope you guys like it. not exactly a saiga 12 anymore.
no errors, 780 poly's, smoothed with smoothing groups, etc.

Looks really good, but make the trigger guard thinner then the handle otherwise I think it makes the handle look boxy. GJ

Looks loads better, Try to add some details, they make a big difference. Also the back area of the handle needs to be smoothed more, and has to get thinner to the end.

hmmm, ok i'll do that as well. any suggestion on where to add details and what details? i would really like to finish this thing up tonight. not sure what to do to it other than the trigger and handle

i know a great tutorial for plane modeling its a vid but its very hard to learn ill see if i can get the site for it

It is looking very good, I used to do plane modelling, it is a very good technique, can be time consuming though, I do almost all of my work with spline modelling, you can get as good detail. Although you could easily edit that model to add details using tools such as cut. Box modelling can be effective aswell, it is the most used nowadays, as people understand it.
