The Black Gate

well...since you guys really like my Helms Deep, i figured i'd show you the only other Lord Of The Rings thing i'm making.

The object of this map is to get past the fire fights & get onto the gate. once your're on it, you have to think as a team on how to get the flag(which will be revealed later...). lets just say that you will have halo 2 weapons(battle rifle, smg, cov carbine, beam rifle, new sniper rifle) & it will be Hard to reach the flag without being shot down. Just a hint, the sniper spots that i'll tell you about later have a bridge that that joins them...& the flag is on the bridge.

there will be rocks, trees, shields, etc throughout the field...& that should give the attacking team some pretty good cover. The attacking team will also have sniper rifles, rocket launchers, & the h2 weapons. however, the defensive team has only a few weapons(not including rocket launcher or fuel rods). so that should give the attacking team some leverage.

Also, i'm going to have some vehicles like: ATV, Go Cart, & hover bike. Those vehicles should make it pretty interesting...


This is only a wip though. It took me about a day to get everything set up for exporting & all. I just need a good building/structure skinner to skin it for me...

but anyways, here it is. Tell Me What You Think????

I plan to add a small sniping spot on the rock wall somewhere; it will be accesible from the small structure in the wall on the end of each side of the gate. I may add some other things too, but i must finish Helms Deep first.

I'M LOOKING FOR A SKINNER TO HELP ME OUT. I can make some sweet ground/dirt skins, but buildings are harder than i thought=lol.

that would be an awesome map. just put a bunch of rocks and trees in. who cares if it isnt an exact LOTR replica. its a little plain right now. but its awesome. cant wait.

Don't overload the map with trees and rocks and the like. Bad FPS. If possible, make some of the scenery part of the actual BSP. That helps a lot for smooth gameplay. :D

maybe you should make part of the walls scenery and then make them destructable :) that would be very cool

EDIT: maybe make the whole base be scenery and have a control panel to open the front gate :P if thats even possible

Oxy, i'm gettin HUD done for ur H2 models right now (courtesy of Joel) and once skinned, i'll hopefully have the tags to ya...if u want me to do the map once its done i can do that for ya, too

looks alot like Helms Deep from LOTR TT but idk thats just my oppinion
