don't double post,the maps alright the textures stretched,kinda unoriginal and one more how many poly's is it?

the map is about 20k polys. is that too high? i'm not sure. i have a version that is quite a bit less though. it is about 6k. btw, that texture is not what i'm using. i have a bitmap showing in the viewport that i used for displacement mapping :wink: .

that is not a halo texture either. as a matter of fact, it's nothing like what i have planed. and blah blah blah about double posting, i don't care, i'm not a noob. other sites don't allow so many pictures in one post, so i took a shortcut and made sure the same wouldn't happen here. soooo, if need be to post so many pics, i'll double post to show you guys. thankx for the heads up tho :wink: . and as you can (hopefully) tell, it hasn't been put through hek yet, so there is no scenery, so of course it's "alright". have you made any maps? i don't recall seeing any of yours. if you have, the appology is mine.

if anyone isn't gonna be thrilled about what they see, then i would suggest telling me what you like and don't like. otherwise...yeh...it won't be spectacular in the end.

It doesn't matter if i made any maps or not im telling you from a players perspective
and no i didnt make any maps i model weapons and also am kind of a team director for a map called absolute zero

oh you model weapons? i'm not trying to spite you, but i would like to see your work. i've made a couple of weapons as well. mostly melee weapons. to enlighten you and the rest of the players, here is the map concept:

this is an evergreen forest, and the terrain is densely packed with trees. the bases will be tents. in this forest, there is a forest fire. this is, i think, a very cool environment to have a firefight. the upper level is accessible by climbing trees. smoke is in the environment, and your vision is limited. depend on your team for survival. the more eyes and ears you have, the better chance you stand. don't be a stragler, because you may end up with a machette in your back!

when your team comes to the chokepoint, look around, but move quick. snipers may be watching from the upper ledges, looking to pick off a leader or stragler, or resort to firing off a barrage of four bullets. enemies at ground level may be to the right or left or even both once you exit the chokepoint, so make your moves accordingly. stop. listen. there is rustling behind the bushes, so throw a nade and prepare for the firefight that is about to ensue. your team member is dropped by an unseen sniper, as your nade takes out a would-be enemy ambusher. 7 on 7, but you're in their territory, and their team mate spawns nearby. hope your teammate is quick on his feet, because you're taking on them all!!! get ready for the BLOODSHED

Your map does need to be textured correctly. The idea is nice, but you probably need a little more. I like the narrow passage, but it might not work so good ingame, as anyone near it is likely to get massacred. The machette looks nice. Might want to add a tiny bit of rust and scratches to make it look more authentic. I like the texture itself on the map, but don't make that the only texture. Might want to add some trees or whatever in the passageway to make it a little more fair and have some cover.

as i said, these are not the textures i'm using in the map. and there will be A LOT of trees. there will be brush and trees in the chokepoint. a massacre firefight is the point. intense close combat is what more maps need, in my opinion anyways. if you're having a problem getting through the chokepoint, there is the higher ground as an alternative. thank you for the comment on the knife, and i hope to add better textures to it sometime. truth is, i'm not good at skinning at all. i'll leave that to my fellow modders on the team. i'm a mapper, not a skinner or someone who puts maps through hek. depending on what the team has going on, it may come out soon.

any more input??
