help with skins

when ever i try to put a skin in for master chief it gets all messed up but when i put one in for a vehicle it works can somebody help me

1st;y, wrong forum
2ndly,
- What skin are you applying?
- What are you applying it to?
- Is it for SP or MP <-- ie depends on the colour of the MC
- Have you got any other mods on that may affect the skins or models

im puting in skins i created in paint.
secondly no i do not have any other mods on i even jjust reinstalled the game

are you trying to put them in as bmps?:?
if so, u need to convert them to the right format, DDX1 i fink
look around for a converter in the files forum

i have convim and it works fine for my vehicle skins it just dosent work with my character models. im thinkin about redownloading hmt. that might be the problem

No, it's dds dxt1 but some use dxt 2 and/or 3.

how do you make it dds2/dds3 in convim i only have dds1 to convert it to
