Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Help! Need help compiling with tool.exe!

Post by Chief_Mendez »

Hello,

Everyone, I know some of you have been looking forward to my upcoming map.

But, when I try and compile the .jms in the command prompt it reads:

building intermediate geometry...
choose a type for the shader '<none>':

1. shader_enviroment
2. shader_model
3. shader_transparent_generic
4. shader_transparent_chicago_extended

etc.
choice (1-9):

Ok, so I choose one, and it keeps on going until it reaches the end,

Some shaders where not defined.

And then it ends.

I have made custom shaders and bitmaps.
Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Please help, thank you!

all you have to do is select 1.
and then edit that shader (which will be in your tags directory [halo custom edition\tags]) so that it points to your bitmaps, then place it in your custom object\level shaders folder (halo custom edition\tags\levels\yourlevel) and then run that same command again and it will compile the structure\level.

simple!
hope that helps!

Ok, I selected 1. Edited the shader file put in the .bitmap I wanted. And I still get the same thing. I've tried and tried. If I send you the stuff can you compile it into a .scenario and then send it back to me?

I really would appreciate it.

Thanks,
