I have an excellent idea for a new map =) but i need some peeps to help me with it, i need some expreienced modelers, weapons specialists and vehiclers to help me here.
Pretty much it is ike infinifty, but vastly more complex. with a series of many canyons, heres a pic:

Green is the forerunner complex and red an blue are the bases
light blue is the canyon floor, the grey is the canyon tower things
maybe it'll have some river geometry or something

depending on the quality of the team and stuf

neat idea, but WAY too complex. if you and a team were to actually work on it, it may not even be ready before halo 2........it's a pretty good idea, just make the map smaller

Yes, that isn't too hard. Nice map idea too. I just don't see why you need weapon and vehicle people, I think you should just stick to the originals.

Nice work so far. But being so complex it might be kinda hard to find an enemy. Since there are so many places to go. Maybe you could have a couple main paths that have incentives along the way. Like heavy weapons and overshields. Or even vehicles. That way you would have paths that were frequently travelled on but also a buch of little paths off to the side in case you needed to hide the flag.

using displacement modifiers will always make it too high or too low polygon, and will make all hills the same hight, it will all look to plain, and you have to add detail as lots of different textures as it will all be one object. Also if makes a bad overlaying geometry.
I wouldnt do it like that, unless you want alot of lag, i would suddjest you get a poly cruncher tool, it will probably fix your geometry problems. but make a mesh smooth before you use it so it will be rounder, when the polygons are low you can change the height of the hills making it look much more profesional.
