how the fuck do portals work???

ok my map is goin to be finished in the next days, its 3 months of work. i already got my map in sapien and in halo. my problem is that i got some errors with my portals. i dont know how these work and in the hek tutorial they dont explain how they work.... so i got some portals passing trough my base exactportals but in the game wen i go to the place were its intersecting, i cant see the other side of the portal i am in. so do i need to make the portals seperate (they dont pass trough themselves) or is it ok to let them like that? plz i need help i cant understand how these stupid portals work

no mac these are lag portals and you need to add those in 3dsmax but don;t ask me how i got the same frikin error

try making the portals in sapien

wrong portals shawn. Heres what i would do go file merge and open your tutorial level and select the the terrain portals or whatever they are called and just scale those one to you see fit. then take the ones for the bases as well.

Umm no that will never do U should really search for Xyyz's tutorial on gbx it helped me alot

hang on when u say portals do u mean like teleporters or the other kind of portals?

These are 'the other kind of portals'. The non-teleporting kind. What these do is stop the game from rendering things outside each portal. Or it lowers the LOD, I forget.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to do those right. I'd say do it like the tutorial map, just make a simple grid style one.
