Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

level.max not available to export...help! :)

Post by Waylander »

I've gone through the beginner tutorials from this site a few times and have now created my own map based on those. I've saved the map as a .max file since the beginning as the tutorial says, but when I go to export it as a JMS file as it says in beginning tutorial number 6, my .max file doesn't show up as a selection to export.

1) yes, I am looking in the right folder :) (/HaloCE/data/levels/mapname/models/mapname.max

2) I am using 3D Studio Max 5

I have no idea what is going on or if maybe I missed something (very likely...am VERY new to this). I see the selection in 3Dmax to export it as a JMS, but my map file isn't showing up for me to highlight.

Help please! My apologies if this has been answered before. I searched but found nothing related to this.

i think you may have to link your map to your frame....not 100% sure tho
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

....i think you are confused (either that or its me). How could you map not show up... its in front of you.

Start up 3ds max. Go to open. open up the map you saved. now go to file -> export. Name you map whatever you want. On the second pull down menu go down to Blitzkrieg exporter (.jms) and export it into the directory you created.

.... i don't really understand what you were trying to do.

I linked the reference frame and sure enough, it seems to have worked...although I've done it several times before when going through the tutorial. Maybe you've got to do it when everything is done :).
