Skinning home-made weapons for CE

I cant figure out how to skin my model i want to put into haloCE. I would also like to know if each block in the model has to be one colour but i doubt the situation is that bad.

Thanks now i can gloat cus ive added the stand and ive made the bit that surrounds the trigger. I just need a bit of time to do the trigger.

you must flatten out a uvw map to paint directly to each face.

I got directed to a great sit eand hopefully tomoro i will have a fully skinned gun! then i need to put it into halo. Should i just put it into the tutorial map or shall i make a small map to put it into.
P.S. i knwo the stand thingy is a bit fat but i'm feeling lazy atm.

Ok guys i need more help , ive a made a uvw map in 3dsmax but then what do i do . As far as i'm aware i cant skin it in t3dsmax but the file has no other file-type but .uvw wich is useless in any other program. HELP ME and dont flame that guy. If one guy says for him to stop thats enough technically you just spammed and flammed and its anoying.

Yeah the scope is very good its just the rest doesnt look right. Its not scaled right or something

I tihnk its mainly the trigger gaurd needs ot be a lot small and the back butt needs finishing. I tihnk the barrel and above is right but theres sumthing wrong with the rest, probably because i lost the attention to detail and it was made in the first 2 days of using 3ds max. Tomoro mayhbe today i'll remoddle the handle and stuff see what symatry i got wrong. Its kinda hard from my referance pic because its at a perquliar angle.
