Ok I started this map a few days ago and its the first map that i made that might actually work. Its the map from counter strike, dustworld. It still needs to be textured. Tell me what you think of it and keep in mind that im a newb at this.

Yes please continue to finish this map. I've been wanting a map of Dustworld for Halo CE. It'd make for some awesome firefights. If your a newb at this, find some modelers and collaborate to make some more weapons for the map and it would really kick ass. I think someone had started doing this as well before, but I haven't heard from them in a long time. Please continue this though, it looks nice so far.

Ok in your uvw map choose box withg your sky box selected, if you want the middle areas to look better select all their faces, clikc detach and give it a uvw map and go to region fit (bottom of the uvw window) and drag a box around the middle boxes and then click box as your set at the top of the uvw window, then just go to your skybox>>>editable mesh>>> attach then click on your detached model, now just set a full uvw as a box.

Now it should look very nice.

Hope it helps.

you dont have to detach things to apply diff UVW's
all u do is select those faces that u want to have the "box" UVW and then once u are done applying, right lcick and convert it back to an editable mesh, this will seal that UVW until you edit those exact face again. and u can add others without having to detach and reattach. trust me it works.

apply a uvw map on the vertical faces, so its not up and down streaks.

Also, make sure your bsp is at 0 0 0, i see that little gray grid thing that signifies the center is over to one side. You don't have to, it just makes things easier.

One more thing. Play CS 1.5......no stupid cheapo riot shield

how do i move it in the middle without clicking on it and dragging it over so it is exactly centered? and of course im not gonna put the shield in.

Edit: Alright thanks for the help, i got the textures to look right. I have another question, do you have to make a shader for each texture? im using kirk's tutorials.

Either your shaders are non-existant or wrong or you didn't make bitmap tags...

when i made the bitmaps, it said "skipping bitmap with non-power-two dimensions" but it still made bitmaps, is that bad?

It skipped your bitmaps whose size wasn't a power of 2.

it said that on every bitmap, but it still made them. How do i make them a power of 2?
