hey everyone! as promised, here's a weekly update on Amsterdam 2552; i'm hard at work putting together my univeristy portfolio. i just applied to Norwich School, U of Westminster, Sheridan, Seneca, and the Vanvouver Art Institute! wish me luck! anyways, Amsterdam has been going very well. I have mainly used the architecture shown in Ocean's 12 as inspiration from the real city, along with a bit of the multi-tiered scope of the Fifth Element to give it a futuristic look. I completed the blue base; a parking garage on the north end, and am now just finishing up some peripherals and texturing. I'm getting close!
Pictures can say a thousand words:
3rd floor of the red base Office Building... anything textured light blue is breakable glass.

a gritty entrance to the plaza shopping tier parking lot (2nd tier on east side).

perspective from the blue base down the street.

Club Difussiehalo.... the hippinest place on this side of the street. Expect loud music coming from inside 24/7.

Bird's eye view of a pretty maintenace pipe.

a view of the Office Building's pathway to the 2nd tier office park.

Lots of pipeline in this city

overhead of a skybridge.

the blue base Parking Garage in all it's asphalt glory.

some cheap propaganda for an election beside the west 2nd tier -to- parking garage connection.

the beginings of an ethnic plaza area.

As always, questions and comments are welcome! Thanks for viewing!

beautiful beautiful. looks really great. das ist ser guut!!!! ja, ich sprache keine deutche... looking good. it really does remind me a little of Amsterdam, the last time i was there. hope you release it soon enough

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D
No I live in Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario. Nowhere near Amsterdam... I just wanted to see a Eurpoean ethnic neighbourhood in Halo 2, and when it wasn't there, I decided to make one myself. It was between Rome and Amsterdam, so I went with the later because I thought it would be grungier in 2552. And yes, Cote D'Azur over on Sigma Octanus IV is still alive and kicking, and lots of portfolio uni deadlines are closing in soon

i was thinking maybe you could make the maintenence pipe hollow than you could make it so ppl could walk thru for example red team finds a entrance to the pipe gos thru and raids blue base also it would be great because each team would get into the pipe so they can raid the other teams base so there would be major battle in the pipe so what do ya say
i think its a good idea anyway
p.s. maybe blue team spartens red team elites??

also maybe up the top at the highest pipe maybe it could have holes (and i mean REAL punctures like full peices missing) in it so its leaking but its really a sniper hole where sniper could target the next ghost or wathog driver on the main road i mean why, not the pipe has to be battered a little bit anyway the sniper hole has to have some major damage to it just so if you look hard enough you might be able to track down the sniper what i mean is the hole has to be heavily camoflaged so the other team cannot see the sniper well and can't sniper him down. it would take i one on one shot from a side shot and if the ground sniper misses than the sniper in the pipe could easily snipe him down so thats the kinda stuff i mean to this map

the point of oil line is that it's the only completely direct route between bases... it can only be run ontop of or else the sneaking factor would be way too overpowered. The very highest perpendicular pipe to the street is solely senic.... there is another sniping point though that is the highest reachable point
more anout that later. And there are no plans for liquid anywhere inside. fog though... lots of fog.
