This is the base of the guitar (no material applied). The basic shape is laid out and I pretty much stopped there for now. This is just a side project.

Thoughts so far?

the edges are supposed to be visually vertical, but they're most likey (due to manufacturing procedures) angled at 3 degrees, possibly less. so instead of it being like this:Viggy wrote:I don't think I understand. I'm modeling this off my buddy's guitar and the edges look vertical to me.
Can you provide a picture to better explain what you're talking about? You may be right and I may be just thinking about something totally different.
Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D
Oh I see what you mean now. But, uh, I dunno where you're buying your guitars but last I checked, you don't mold wood.SnaFuBAR wrote:the edges are supposed to be visually vertical, but they're most likey (due to manufacturing procedures) angled at 3 degrees, possibly less. so instead of it being like this:Viggy wrote:I don't think I understand. [ ] on the sides (totally vertical, top and bottom) it should be more like this
/ \ top (the underscore would be the middle between the top and bottom half of the guitar)
\ / bottom
the sides angle towards the top and bottom. this is done so that they can pull the part out of the mold easily.
