yes an MMO in halo is NEAR immposisible but i wont go for that.....im just making a map for the RPGers out there and also making a fighting version for the ass kickers......

and yes i am not very good at HEK :P but i will try to get this map done!

unlike my previous map which would have been way to HUGE for halo :)

if the CMT team let me i might include the pelican skin they have (with the yellow bits) so it looks civilian

anyways the map is near its 1st beta release im using the A30 BSP at the moment but ill probably have a much larger and more flat BSP in the final.....just need to get my sky working :x

trust me, they're not boring when your friends are on playing with you. in fact, i'd probably be playing wow right now if my mom would let me activate my account already :x .

and it's possible he could make an mmo map, with the help of a server. i know there's some source game servers out there that track stats, wouldn't tracking stats be possible in halo?

for example, if you play day of defeat, check out a server with the W3 mod (or something like that). they track kills and use that to distribute xp and increase your level in the server. they also track levels and xp as a part of stats so you can leave the server and come back a day later and pick up where you left off. and then they went ahead and added in the extra options of choosing your race, the abillities you get as such, etc.

what i'm saying is, if a halo server can track stats, than i can see an mmo mod being concievable.

1: yes, i know wow's addicting. i've played it.
2: playing an mmo is as healthy as playing any other game. i doubt you'd get more excercise or lower your cholesterol playing halo as opposed to wow.

If you're going to make an MMO mod, don't make it for Halo. There are (relatively) very few tools for modding Halo CE. If you want to make a mod that changes the gameplay fundamentally, you should make it for a game such as Half-Life 2 which has source code and an SDK available for you to change the gameplay to such a degree (if you have a good coder that is.)

well halo gets boring if i play it for around an hour, with wow people play it for 5 hours straight sometimes, thats saying something right there, i think you should stop paying the expensive wow subscription and use the money to pay for mmo rehab or something. ( no offense).

There are a lot of people that play shooters for hours long i mean there are people that died from playing excesive Counter-stirke. It all depends on ones personality, There are a few games that would keep me on for more then 3 hours. I have played wow for a month and never more then 2 hour at a time. My bro on the other hand played hours and hours long and didnt find it boring for months.

well i just dont see how you could find fun in something where you have to get leves, because the people that stay on longer are automatically better than you? i just dont see any sense in mmos because you have to play for months and months to be better than other people and thers no real action, but whatever play wow if you want but.... ITS A DAMN WASTE OF TIME.

i encourage GIBBO's idea. RPG's to me are relatively fun and usually RPG maps are good for machinama(sp?). you may just see your map in a movie 8) . anyway, i have seen some servers hosting roleplaying games on halo, so its not like no one would download the map....

roleplaying servers in halo... wow...

and this is the last time i defend an mmo in this thread, i don't want to get too off topic or anything.

by "months and months" to get better than someone else, the only realistic reason for that to happen in wow is if someone's tyrin to get grand marshall/high warlord before someone else (it's the highest rank in pvp. let's just say it's hard as hell to get. there's usually only a few people in a server that have it). also, an mmo is more amusing than you'd think because it's an active community you are participating in. you don't just spawn in a map and mow each other down for 30 minutes, you have to put time and effort into it. the game is also different all the time, unless your grinding or something. and if your in a guild or something, they're like a close group of friends you can always hang out with and talk with in-game.

i guess i can't easily see how someone would try wow, or any mmo for that matter, and hate it right away.

back on subject:

this sounds like an interesting map. i'd like to see it in-game.

I totally support this idea.
At least he's trying to do something new with it.
