Model: Anti-Banshee turret
heres how you can get the chaingun and rockets.. now we know how iron_forge made the banshee as a new vehicle in deathisland.. well you do the same with this and steal the tanks weapon.. then change the bullets to warthog and sheel to rockets (obviosly u just gotta change hw many rockets are alowed out)
chair?
this model is cool, was pointed out to me by Wraith in #halomods, but one thing.Does it realy have to be a chair, is MC THAT lazy?

Sure its nice to show off with, but first you must skin it, skinning is more important than a model in most cases. A good skin can make or break your model so i hope you have a cool skin to
Btw which program do you use to model?
you really think thats the only 3d model program..omg

@ Postie & j4s[p] - well if you dont know all the modeling programs styles in rendering then some people cant tell the difference between a Lightwave and a 3Ds render, i use 3Dstudio Max 5... you can tell from the way the shadow is very soft.. the lightwave lights look a bit different. but then again dont jump to conclusions.. i could have been using a 3rd party renderer on a diff modeling programPostie wrote:j4s[p] wrote:Oh my god. 3dmax!Postie wrote:Very good modelling no doubt, its cool without a doubt. and yes i will work on the map once i get the model the way i (And you people) want it
@Dan!! - yeah i think 3ds is the best for games design but i certainly dont think its the best modeler, lightwave and maya produce higher quality renders and are easier to model in but they dont produce nearly as efficent meshes. its also not THAT expensive.. if you buy the main version, you are also paying for the licence to use the program for making alot of money in games design, but if you buy the student version you are limited to personal use only and it costs a fraction of the price.
and whats the link to the #halomods IRC channel?

Definitely keep the rockets, a chaingun would be little more than an immobile, double LAAG. Homing rockets, on the other hand, would be quite a bit different from the original gameplay (especially if they were tuned just right so that someone could evade one if he was good enough).
I love that latest model. A SAM site, it's perfect.
Kinda hard to see how it works though.

basicly ingame you will walk up to the control panel when you control it you will be brought up with a scope style display.. you are looking through the scope of that ball opposite the control panel which you can move through 360 degrees and up and down,Devanstator wrote:Definitely keep the rockets, a chaingun would be little more than an immobile, double LAAG. as you say the rockets will be slow moving but you can fire the missile and keep the crosshair trained on the target and the missile will follow that path.
would be very fun as there is a huge inbalance with the banshee ingame...
perhaps i should develop an anti-scorpion covenent plasma howitzer a to counter the human scorpion... that would be fun

make it so the rockets cant hit the ground, but just skim it, as to only hit banshees, or you could put them in an akward position, and let thiem hit the ground, cause we dont want any imbalance
and then you should make the rockets start out slow, and accelerate till they are really fast (over a period of time though.. which isnt too hard with the halo game engine)
looks nice, i want either last one, or rocket chair

just sum turkey.. yeah, its really a very nice model.. just very hard to achieve untill gearbox does sumthin kind enough to give us sum tools to use.. wtf is taken so long? they had pics before halo was released?????
If your significance is that but significant then is there another with significance?
what kind of file do you need to make new models?
I use animation:master all the time and I'm great at modeling with it and making animations.
It exports .obj, is that what I need?
I've been looking to get back into modeling more often, if anybody wants a cool model I could make you one, bump mapped, texture mapped, the whole nine yards.

i have no idea what format halo uses.. you will have to wait for the development kit to come out

I don't know about the holo panel, do we even know if the human's have that kind of technology yet?
I would suggest taking off the "holo panel" it looks kind of corny. Real buttons would be okay. Besides the holo panel wouldn't be any use, all you'll probally see is the recticle. Make it a rectile somewhat the same as the tank's.
