Well, here it is, after several weeks of procrastinating. I made this on Two-One's request, for Halo 2; it's not the best but I put a fair bit of effort in all the same to get it looking alright.

Need 3ds... my crappy viewport pics do it no justice... :cry:

Nice model rossum, you are good.

If that is GMAX, how do you change the bg color, and how did you model the trigger?

Very nice, but I think you should render it when you post pictures so the model looks better. :)

3Ds Max isn't working for him so he had to use Gmax so he can't render it.

Looks pretty cool rossmum! Can't wait to see this in render form.

those are not gmax screencaps. even so, he can use yafray, or whatever it's called, to render in gmax. that or deep exploration. so the way i see it, there is no excuse for a screencap.

other than that, i'm sure the model looks much nicer than shown.

Yeah, he uses GMAX only far as I know because I talk to him aloy on MSN about this model and other things, and I know he cant render so thats why I asked if someone could for me, and then get it skinned.

well, that's nice and all, but still, there is no excuse for not rendering, other than being lazy. if his comp doesn't support yafray for gmax, i understand, but it's unlikely. he can easily export it as a .3ds or .obj from gmax and render it in another program like deep exploration. i'm just saying he CAN do renders. he just needs to not use the excuse that he's using gmax.

again, i like the model though :) keep up the good work.

edit: you might want to fix the transition on the stock. it's totally inaccurate. fix it, and you'll look spot on.

Yeah, I was kinda in a hurry to finish it, so I just did a really quick job on the stock.

As for rendering, tried export plugins, none worked, no idea where to get or how to work this Yayfray thing, and at the moment I rely on Reaper to convert and render all my stuff. Could anyone linke me to an idiot-proof, simple, and preferably quick exporter? And this rendery thingo?

Anyways, I may as well quicky fix the stock now, then get some closeups or something so you guys can actually see half of the details :roll: stupid viewport pics... I tried downloading the 3ds trial a few weeks back but it wouldn't work at all no matter what I tried... so I'm stuck with Gmax.

As for the trigger, I splined and extruded. Like every other non-cylindrical or rectangular part.

Like I said, it was a quick model for a Halo 2 mod. I don't have the time, energy or will power to remake it, so meh.
