Skinning problem.

When i begin to skin something like say threshold trying to change it to earth, i get a pretty good picture of earth, save it in all the right format (dds. dxt stuff like that) and i get either a black picture or a ligh purplish picture, what am I doing wrong? feedback appreciated.

what are you using for injection and extraction?

hmt version 3. Found a little tutorial lebowski put up at his site but it doesnt seemt to work for me.
