GMAX PROBLEM

problem with gmax i downloaded it and all adn when i go to run it , it says

interactive 3D renderer intialization failed.
please check your device settings by using the -H command line option

what does this mean

right click the gmax and under location, add -h to it

I right clicked the G-max icon and went to properties and I it would not let me change the location. Did I go to the wrong place?
