Really Noobish Question: How do u use a custom map?

Lol, i dont know much about mapping and stuff.. but I recently downloaded Custom Edition, and ive got a bunch of maps that ive downloaded, But I dont know how to actually use them? So what do u do? I tried pasting the .map file into the Maps folder but it didnt work.. can someone PLEAAAASE tell me?

just put the maps you download into the your maps folder, the default is.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps
Then start up halo ce again.

I have the same problem. I have several maps but they are .rar instead of .map. I've tried changing the file type to .map but when i start Halo it gives me an error message and wont start up untill the map file is changed back to .rar or is removed. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
