-3ds Help on new map?-

Post by devinisdie »

Sorry about making two n00b threads in one night, but i have been having troubles with 3ds max, yes I've follow the tutorials, but i keep messing up part of my skybox. Is there anyway to fix this:

Image

See how the circled part isnt lined up like the other sides? I think it has to do with my mountains, I suck at doing geometry stuff on 3ds. But are there any ways I can fix it?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I'm not sure if I know exactly what you're having a problem with but if I understand right, just go into edit mesh mode, then verticle selection mode, select the verticals that make up your mountain that is to high and move them down.

the heights are ok, it was from rotating mountains that were hugging the edge of the skybox, is there ANY way to just get the skybox to be a normal box again?

yeah I know how I made the mistake, I'm just focused on fixing it, I've already had to start over twice and I'm really frustrated and beginning to lose interest in a map that has tons of potential for stunts.

Well if =if what's wrong is what I think it is:

click your skybox convert it to mesh (which it probably already is) then go into vertex mode, then go to the side view of the map and turn ignore backfacing off. Then select the two vertexes that are to low and move them up to make the top of the skybox even. That help?
Good bye. So long. I hope we never meet again. F u halomods.com

Has there been a problem compiling it? Cause if there isnt it doesnt make a difference with your map. All the +sky means is open/transparent faces that let you see out into the skybox.
