I am definitely not a noob, but I am not a awsome Halo modder.
I know how to model simplisitcally (with one color or tif), but how do u make a skin that lines up with the model. I have heard something about having to us a UVamapper, can someone clarifiy this for me???
what you do is you find a pic(side view) of the gun that you're modeling & save it somewhere.
select your model, & in the editor mode you can click the pull down menu & scroll down to uvw map. once you have done this, press 'm' & the material editor should appear on your screen-click the button right next to the diffuse window & find your pic of the gun & open it.
now click the lil checked box & click the bow that has an arrow pointing to your object.
now click the scroll down menu again & go to uvw unrap. now you'll be in the uvw unrap mode. you should see an edit buttom under the uvw urap window in the bottom right corner, click it.
a window should appear on your screen, click the four arrow button at the upper left corner & move the vertices to fit the outside of the gun in the picture that you got from the enternet or something...& keep doing this till the unrap looks nice.
if you don't understand or you have questions, plz do not come to me for i have no(none, nadda, zero) experiance in teaching people & i don't have too much patience either...
anyways, that's all i can really tell you. Your welcome!
Thanks, Oxy
