I cant put my finger on it but theres something ont quite right about this AG3 i modelled:

I use smoothing groups cause my weapons are always made from editable poly.darkstorm995 wrote:the smoothing, did you use mesh smooth?

The front grip is smooth. It's suposed to be bumpy, like a series of identical cylinders. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the front third of the gun that's apparently gradiated f(starting at a blackish hue) that ends where the barrel starts. This is where a right-handed person would put his left hand when aiming such a rifle.
Hmm.. You may have added too many smoothing groups. Only seperate pieces need to be smoothed, and make sure each piece has a different group unless they are attached to each other (that way the smooth will be.. err.. seamless, you won't see that big line where they meat)
