Rank and Post Count Information.

Okay... I noticed a lot of people were anxious to get a certain "rank" in the forums (nOObs) so I decided to stop the flood of nOObs by posting this topic. The following list explains how many posts are needed to obtain a certain rank. If I'm wrong, please post a reply addressing what I messed up on.
Rank List
Rank Post Amount
1. Grunt 0 - 99
2. Jackal 100 - 499
3. Hunter 500 - 999
4. Elite 1000 +

Don't say request about becoming a mod... all that'll do is annoying people like Gren, and most likely, your chances of modship will go down big-time.
As for Sentinal... I'm not sure. I know some mods and special people have it, again, MonoxideC, and then people like Equinox, I've noticed.

I don't think this needs to be a sticky, unless another Moderator thinks it should, because to find the stuff out all you need to use it MR.Search...but if more then 1 mod agrees, then yeh, sure, it could be a sticky...

I agree. I've seen this asked from time to time, but not enough to have another sticky. last time I checked, not very many people were signing on as post whores.
Sentinels are just Gren's friends, people who were involved with the start of modding. IF, Mono, Gren, Source (where oh where did he go?), and probably a few others have it. its just a special rank. and Equinox isnt a sentinel, hes still a good 'ol Elite with the rest of us

We will be removing post count soon because it just encourages spamming.
Also note that if you spam to increase your postcount, you have a better chance of getting a tempban now that we have a phpbb patch to perform tempbans.

If it'll help decrease spam, then I'm not sure why you're not all for it... The amount of n00bs on these forums these days is horrible, and we're getting looked down upon for it!
Also, Gren... something I'd suggest, is to make new accounts unable to post for like... 36 hours or something. That way, people can't sign up and spam right away... it might discourage them from doing so.

maybe yes maybe no... they might write down all their spam on paper and post it all in one shot... imagine -- 3 days of spam in like 30 mins

It's not like ppl spam just to get up thier post count. Atleast I don't. Still, after accumulating so many posts, I'd like to keep it.

How do you think hunterXI will feel when u take away his post count
? I think post counts should stay, but how can you stop spamming if someone is just replying fast to different topics? you could tempban a person who is being helpful?
