ScottyGEE's Skinning Competition #2!
Intro
Woopeeeeeee! New skinning competition is upon us!
After thinking for an extensive amount of time, I concluded that it would be best to stick to the original format...And that is, I give you a level, and you skin it
What's that level you ask? Why, its nothing other than Burial Mounds
So what theme do I skin it as?
Well that's the thing, this skinning competition requires no theme...Whilst I thought of restricting people to a theme, I thought well...It was too restricting... I like creative skins...Forcing people to stick to one theme would be hazardous and especially harmful to one's health. So to throw a few ideas up there, you could skin the level as a desert, a jungle, a volcanic ruin, a forerunner post, a murky swamp...The list goes on for this open ended map...
Hey, what are the rules?
Glad you asked (;)), the rules for this skinning competition are as follows...
-The skin must be on burial mounds
-No ripped content whatsoever
-BSP modifications are allowed this time...EG weather and water can be added
-New sounds are allowed
-New scenery such as trees or rocks are allowed
-There is to be NO modified weapons, effects or anything that changes gameplay
-Bipd's, vehi's and weap's can be skinned
-Bump maps (be them proper or non proper) are allowed to be injected...If you need help on injecting non proper bumpmaps, just pm me and I'll tell you how.
-Judges are allowed to submit a skin, however, they are dissallowed from giving an opinion on the skin
-Entries must be posted in this thread with a link to the thread with the skin.

Of course you can! However don't post in this thread, please post your application in the Skinning competition discussion thread...
As a judge, you will be required to give opinions on each and every one of the skins submitted...These opinions will have to go through me (As in you tell ME what you think), either on a forum that I will most likely setup or through MSN/AIM/PM...
Judges can enter their own skins remember, however they cannot give reviews of their own skin...

Well, ample time is necessary to create a perfect skin so I thought why not make the absolute deadline on the 18th of March...This gives skinners over a month to create the perfect skin that we can say is better than a hairy aunt.
But sir! I have a question!
Well then! Please direct quiestions over to the Skinning competition thread where I or someone else will gladly help you with your skinning problems or competition problems...
Conclusion
Well that about wraps up everything I can think of...

1st: *secret*, ultimate bragging rights, avatar and sig combo made by me
2nd: avatar plus sig combo made by me

Hey guys...Sorry about the delay, its been sooo busy for me and I wanted to test each individual skin myself before making a conclusion...I must say, the variety and the quality of skins went way beyond my expectations! I also love the interest in skinning this competition brought and thank you all for participating!
So without rambling on any fuerther here are the results from the Judges and myself!
1st place: xheadshotmastax: winterspring!
2nd place: ScottyGEE: Monsoon!
3rd place: Mirage: Little Shadow!
Congradulations to the winners of the competition! And for those that didn't make the top 3...Don't be deterred, it was very close and I hope you can all participate for #3 commencing in MAY/Late April!
Closing Comments:
I shall do the prizes for each person as soon as I can, winners, please PM me regarding what you want with the sigs/avatars and I'll happily make them for you...And faisal, hope you enjoy your prize
One other thing, for the next competition, please focus on removing tiled textures...I was lenient this month with some people's skins (I may/maynot share the same views as the other judges) but please, tiled textures ruin skins IMHO...They ruin the atmosphere to me and I will probably come down hard on it next time...I know its a difficult job, and if you can get rid of most of it thats awesome...but just don't make it overly noticeable...
