SOTW Submission Thread

Week 6!

Theme: Animations

Rules:
-To be considered, your submission MUST be prior to Sunday, December 2 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time (this should be enough time to make a good animation). If you have any questions about this, PM me. Any late entries, even if late by one minute, will be disqualified.

-You are allowed only ONE entry. You are welcome to change your submission as many times as you wish prior to the time mentioned above.

- As with the SOTW contests of old, your signature MUST be submitted in two formats:

The Image:

Image

And the code for the image:

Code: Select all

Any submission that fails to comply will be disqualified.

- Your signature MUST follow the theme to be considered.

- Though your entry is not limited by file size, it still may not exceed 120x500 pixels. (A caution to large animations: the longer it takes to load, the less likely people are to vote for it.)

- No complaining! If you have a complaint, PM me and I will address it. Anybody found complaining or whining in this thread will be disqualified from this contest. Anybody found complaining twice will be disqualified for a minimum of a month (maybe longer). There are no exceptions.

- Have fun! If you didn't enjoy making your signature and I find out about it, you will be disqualified from this contest without warning.

If you have questions as to whether or not your signature qualifies, PM me and I will review it for you.

Awards: Winners will receive "notches" (like a notch in a belt) that they can post below their signature (see Lt Slap a ho's sig).

One last notice: This is not a democracy. I will make my decisions based solely off the rules posted above. If you have any problems or concerns regarding the rules or my decisions, DO NOT post it here. Rather, PM me and I will address them on an individual basis when I can.

That said, I would now like to open this thread for submissions.

Quite a vague topic... Wish there were specifics but I'll see what I can do. :D

(Most likely will stop halfway through due to complete lack of effort/time.)

I wish... but 500x120 is a tough resolution to use (I'll probably have to use my old drawings to make it look good).

I'll see if I can whip anything up :P

PS: This post will be reserved for my entry.

As long as it meets the requirements and appears in the thread, do as you wish.

if thats the case then these forums are not html enabled so no embed. hrmm.. if it was a matter of being able to embed here then id just make a repeating flash intro with music and clickable links or something but it would have to be posted offsite so no go on that.

looks like only .gif animations only then?

You can export .swf animations into .gifs, I believe. It just won't be interactive.

And lower quality.

You can, but it makes it look like crap.

Right, I suppose to save it as such a small file size would basically butcher the quality. 'Tis a shame.

Wait, the animation can be about anything? Or does it have to be about Halo?

Whoop, this is starting to fall to the bottom! Don't want to lose it. =D Anyways, I doubt I'm going to have anything haven't started so I really don't think I'm going to. :D

Animations take planning =( I couldn't really get one done sorry. I also don't want to enter with some basic animation (for example a flaming head recon). So I'm sorry Chad. Don't take the lack of entries personally :P animation is big(ger) than normal.
