long time, no paintings, eh? view the description under the image for more info. it was a very fun experience getting to work with one of my favorite colors, and it's uniqueness has expanded my blending skills immensely.

No Fucking Way!
That looks amazing. Exactly the same as the refrence pic.

I used a new method that i picked up a while back called "Color Palettes" which uses the color dropper to grab certain shades, and then you paint each color shade in one little blob on a new layer so you can pick the color faster.
I don't know if that's what it's called, but it sounds cool.

The result doesn't look that good.

That's a painting? Like... with a paint brush?
Wow...

Ok you did not paint this. Sorry but I do not believe you did that.
Maybe you painted over it whilst applying Photoshop Filters but that doesn't count.
Here is the original image.
Both images are the same size... All I see is contrast changes, blurring maybe even the Artistic Cutout Filter.
I mean you've gone from paintings like these:

http://xiion.deviantart.com/art/SpeedPaint-2-60096696
To this.
The only way you could prove to me that it is your work and not that of Bungie's is by showing the separate layers from the .PSD.

I'm with maca on this one, it's a little sketchy that your "painting" has the exact same lighting and shadows as Bungie's image.

me from my DA wrote:no filters used here. i used the reference pic and placed it under my painting, so i knew where all the detail was at, and to get the shading just right. then once i was done with it, i deleted the reference image, so all that was left was my painting of it. i don't use filters when it comes down to painting, it just ruins everything.
it only looks better than my rest because i actually TOOK TIME to work through the details, rather than just blob around.

Wait for the whole thing to load and then watch.

...That's essentially what Alexander said to do, just
lazified. There is still no evidence to support that you made it. They requested an image of the layers.
Exactly.

No really, why?

There is undeniable evidence that it's ripped. I don't think you can deny that.

Because he wanted to try and seem superior by pretending to have painted a perfect replica.

I'm sorry, Xiion, but until you
somehow prove that you didn't rip it, you just lost a ton of respect from me.

However, if you
do prove that it's not ripped, you'll get huge kudos.

Open the PSD
Go to File > Edit in ImageReady
Go to the Animation box
Do Make Frames From Layers
Save optimized

To be honest, I don't like it...
Xiion, show proof to prove you did paint that..
But I'm kind of guessing I'll see a "I never saved the PSD, or it got deleted," comment.
Oh well...
