yes, all I can see is just single colored brushwork. Maybe experiment more with filters and layer effects?

What do you guys mean single colored, there's scratch-like designes in the brushes.

It's all the same generally blue-gray, dull color.

Yeah, but that's just because the brush was made like that. But only one color fill was added.
