STOP! Please read the Rules first before posting!!
The Image is not complete, but NSN and I both agreed on making preview image, and posting it on HM for good, critiqued opinions. while it is still in beta stage, most of it is done, and the to-do list is small, but will take a while to complete.
Rules:
I want you, critiques of Halomods, and the graphics forum users, to give a straight, honest opinion of the 4 images i have put up for the preview. we need good and pure opinions to give us the idea of what looks good, what looks bad. A few days before we release the full image, we will be posting it here for the same reason.

If for some reason you do not want to give your perspective of the preview images, that is fine, just don't post here. we DO NOT want people to tell us how nice it looks. all we want is the good parts, and the bad parts. that is it. the 4 images in the preview are shrunken shots of the highest detailed parts of the whole project. if you want a higher res preview, then you will have to wait until we finish something drastic or important on the to-do list.
and now, the preview image:
Image
Who's doing/did what:
Planets: NSN.
Planet Atmosphere: NSN & Xiion.
Nebulae: Xiion.
Terragen: NSN & Xiion.
Nuke(not shown in preview): NSN & Xiion.
Foliage: Xiion.
Planet texturing and initial creation: NSN.
The To-Do List:
1. Have HPDarkness41 create buildings, and spacecraft in Bryce.
2. Airbrush over the buildings and spacecraft in PCS2.
3. Touch up areas of low detail, remove lower right planet to replace w/ new one (detail problems.)
and 4. Add lighting effects (depth reasons), and maybe render some asteroids in tg2.
any questions on the project, or if you want to say it looks good so far, please send notes to either Me, or NSN.
Thank you for your time and patience for reading this! :)

Alexi's back woot! (waits an hour before he leaves again).

Btw that water cutt-off is starting to bug me, maybe we should add a little haze?

The stars in the first image are defined too sharply. Blur them.

woops. forgot to mention that before i saved the preview as a jpeg, i sharpened the image twice and faded the sharpen the 2nd time. so if its a bit too sharp in areas, that is the reason why. ;)

The lighting in the terragen looks weird, probably because it looks so bright in some places, and almost black in others. For example, it seems as though the tree should have color, because the water next to it does, but I'd need a bigger picture. The area that the tree is placed on.... I can't tell what it is.. a shore? With the lighting it would more realistically be a mountain, other then the fact that the water leads right up to it. Other then the lighting and colors in the terragen, everything looks fantastic. Super excited for the big thing.

They all look kinda...bleh in my opinion.

Terraspace is getting so repetitive...at least do something new in your pieces. :?

I agree.

You all have seen how popular Alyn's concept has gotten? Create your own style and maybe it'll become just as popular. That's your motivation to stop making Terraspace pieces.

its actually a mountain range with a river leading off into a ocean. the tree is placed on a tiny part of the mountain.

why stop something we both enjoy doing? thats like telling a child to act like an adult. its just not going to happen. alot of people like to do what they enjoy in life, and making terraspace and spacescenes is just something I really really enjoy doing.

I wasn't saying to stop doing it per say...but do something different to spice it up. Something more than just a space scene and some guy's terragen render slapped together with matching colors.

some suggestions would be nice...

almost everything that would commonly come to mind when thinking of a new style to add to a terraspace scene has already been done. just coming up with ideas are hard enough.

Us telling you unique ideas defeats the purpose of them being unique ideas. I doubt someone told Alyn to combine a Terragen render and a space scene...just try experimenting with new things.

inspiration is hard to come by these days, and inspiration leads to ideas. without inspiration, i have no new ideas/ concepts, without that, i cannot create anything new, just the same stuff you that guys are not interested in anymore.
