Dog Tag

In my Tech class, we're making acrylic keychains, and this evolved from a vector of the dog tag in Battlefield 2142...I made a huge version of it (which I'm refining still) and I'm adding the coloring in Photoshop...here's a tiny version of it as a WIP.

There's some pixels that are showing up as transparent (to be fixed), and I'm trying to make the detail that's on the border stand out on small versions the same way that it does in the large version. Once I'm done, the final will be posted on my deviantART.
No custom brushes used, time taken, about 1 and a half hours. 15 minutes for the vector, and the rest for tweaking with small details, and getting angry at Photoshop for crashing after 10 minutes of not saving. >_<
