First one's render is waaay too dark, and Text goes against the flow, and On the second, I suggest recoloring his eyes to make it match more of a human look. Right now, it looks like he got high out of his mind with that severe of Pink Eye.

Pretty sweet for GIMP. Those are actually up to par with with Photoshop...Maybe a Bogey. Still, they don't look great. Render could use soem work. Pink eye...o_O

He uses PS tutorials and tries to do similar things in GIMP to re-create the tutorial, but in GIMP, which is pretty clever.

Gimp isn't that bad of a program, really. You just have to know how to use it right.

I don't really like the first one, but the second one is pretty cool.

Gimp is free, Photoshop is around...700 USD.

But you could always get the trial, or older versions of photoshop.

That's true. Photoshop is definitely better than Gimp, so grab the free trial and see how you like it. Then you can buy the whole version if you have enough money, buy an older version for much less, or just download Gimp if you're not interested.
