Aside from being too small, it looks fairly decent.

hmmmm, every time someone else posts a space scene it gets quite a bit more comments, i really could use some critiquing here, this is my first and to improve i need to know what i ca n do to make it better. it would be great to hear from some people with experience in making space scenes. also thanks for the comment nsn711

To many stars, that are two bright. Nebula's aren't very good, meteors look out of place, but everything looks to placed.

it's space, there are an infinite number of stars, go outside, you'll see more. i may have too many bright stars however. there are no nebula's, those are asteroids not meteors and they're in an asteroid field. you are correct however about placement, i have to get a feel for that, maybe study some of those nasa telescope pictures. thanks for the critique, even though i dont agree with everything you said i'll take it all into retrospect.

Space is also 95% empty, but you don't see people posting a blank canvas. Make stars subtle.
there are no nebula's
Whatever the orange splats are, I dislike them

I agree, make more of the stars more transparent. There are an "infinite" number of stars, sure, but it's not like you can see all of them. The stars in your scene are too big.
I frickin love the scene though, don't get me wrong.
In my opinion, it's better than 75% of the ones experienced people make. I like your style.

thanks, like i said i'll take it into consideration and maybe tone down the stars a bit. nice to hear some people are emjoying it, i also realised if you download the picture you get the full size one, so if you like it you can download it, it makes a good wallpaper.
