Playing RO just before I went to eat dinner tonight, I switched to spectator, and ended up looking straight up into our team's sniper's face as he aimed a shot. It looked pretty awesome, so I took a screenshot of it... then later on, decided to muck around with it in PS7 to get a sort of gritty, WWII film feel to it, as well as make it more dramatic. To do this, I manually blurred certain areas in differing amounts to create the illusion of depth of field, then desaturated and played with the contrast, adding black filler to the corners and then blurring heavily to blend it with the picture itself. Next I added a lens flare over the sun, and decided to see what I could find to really add some dramatic-ness to the sky... well, it definitely had a dramatic effect, just not sure if it was the right sort :P

Last of all, slapped a film grain over the lot and added a caption. The results can be seen below...

Those of you who own/have played the game and are more observant will notice that's not actually Kongisplatz, but Basovka instead. I just couldn't remember the date for Basovka, so I faked it :P

Opinions?

The only problem I see is the sky IMO.

i really like it! the only thing i can see that could use some tweaking is the light bloom from the sky. it's a bit much, and would work better if the sniper was in a building with a hole in the roof behind him, allowing you to try and fake HDR. but anyways, the light bloom belongs in the sky where it is, just moved off to the left a bit and toned down some.
