A tribute.

Post by rossmum »

I just finished watching We Were Soldiers for the God-only-knows-how-many-eth time, and it made me think about reading about how the troops we sent over there didn't get a homecoming parade until the mid-late 80s, if I remember correctly, and it made me wonder how they would've felt after going through hell to come home to a public that ignored them, a government who didn't want to know. So, I decided to start drawing as I had nothing much better to do at 2AM, and drew this up.

I know it's not the greatest, and I've certainly done better, but it's something. Just pretend I did it when I was actually awake and that there's nothing wrong with it ;) It's rather hard drawing something recognisable at 2AM with a mouse. The big dark blob on/under his lips is meant to be a shadow.

Possibly. I've been run off my feet lately =/

And to fix my errors, you'd have to fix the over- and under-done patches of shading, fix his lips, fix his helmet... I really need to stop getting inspiration in the early morning

Alright, it's the disproportionate arms that killed it :(

Either way, it's still disproportionate, lol

But that aside, I really like this. I can't draw for shit with a mouse (I'm more of a pencil/paper kinda guy), esp not at 2 AM.. so I respect that

It's really good
