I realize I'm probably being hypocritical with this, since I normally stay far away from animations.

"Shooting Star" by Bad Company, in case you weren't aware.

I'm suprised about how well the quality loss on the render being turned into a GIF worked in it's favor.

like the text and it overall is great.

I simply love it. The render and the smoothness of it are simply... awesome.
